For three games life came easy for the Gunn Football in the El Camino Division. They won their first three games by an average score of 43-6 and there was talk they would go 6-0 in league play.
That talk was premature as five turnovers against a game Los Altos team resulted in a 23-21 loss at Los Altos last Saturday.
Now, the Titans are in a must win situation if they hope to keep their league title hopes and first visit to the Central Coast Section Playoffs since 2002 alive.
“We need to bounce back with a win,” said Gunn Head Coach Bob Sykes. “We need to put last week behind us and get back to basics.”
While Santa Clara only has a 1-7 record, the Bruins will come into the game with a lot of confidence as many of them were on last year’s squad that came back from a 19-0 deficit to win 29-19.
Kickoff is at 7:30 PM at BucsherMiddle School in Santa Clara, near Santa ClaraUniversity.
